You Can See Everything: Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim film Elizabeth Holmes

A24’s documentary on the Theranos founder, filmed 34 days before prison and then for three years, was unveiled as a surprise at Telluride.

Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim have made You Can See Everything, a documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos founder convicted of fraud. The film, distributed by A24, had a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival in the United States in September 2026.

Elizabeth Holmes plays herself. No actress portrays her, as in the series The Dropout: it is the woman herself, in front of the camera.

34 days before prison, then three years of filming

In April 2023, 34 days before reporting to prison, Elizabeth Holmes invited a film crew into her home. The filmmakers recorded her last weeks of freedom with her partner Billy Evans and their children. She still maintains her innocence. The shoot did not stop there: it went on for three years, and Nathan Fielder became caught up in his subject’s life.

A24 describes the film as:

"A mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss."

Two filmmakers who blur the lines

Nathan Fielder is known for Nathan for You and The Rehearsal (HBO), series where the line between reality and staging becomes the subject itself. Lance Oppenheim, his co-director, comes from documentary, with films such as Some Kind of Heaven (2020). The two also produce the film, with Tatiana Bears, Maggie Ambrose and Jack Davis. The score is by Ari Balouzian.

The Theranos case in brief

Theranos promised to run hundreds of medical tests from a few drops of blood. The company was valued at around 9 billion dollars before its technology was shown not to work. Elizabeth Holmes was found guilty of defrauding investors and sentenced to 11 years and 3 months in prison. She began serving her sentence in May 2023.

Why it matters from Morocco

The film shows another way of making documentary: very long, very close access to one person, where the filmmakers become part of the story. An approach worth watching for Moroccan documentary makers, who are more and more present at festivals and development workshops.

No release date in Morocco has been announced yet.
