Tangier’s medina turned into a souk
Filming in the north is announced from 23 to 31 October 2026. In Tangier, cameras are due to roll on Monday 26 October, after several days of set building.
- Tangier: the Kasbah and Bab El Bhar squares, in the medina facing the port, have been dressed with stalls and shop signs to look like traditional souks.
- Tetouan and Asilah: the two other northern towns chosen for this Moroccan stage.
The film began shooting on 7 September 2026 in London before moving to Morocco.
More than 1,240 people on the ground
The crew counts more than 1,240 actors, technicians and production staff. Security services, auxiliary forces and Civil Protection are deployed around the locations.
More than 1,240 people in Tangier’s medina: Morocco is hosting one of the biggest shoots of the year.
Rick and Evelyn return
The cult duo is back: Brendan Fraser returns as Rick O’Connell and Rachel Weisz as Evelyn, a role she had not played since The Mummy Returns in 2001. John Hannah is back as Jonathan Carnahan, and Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay.
Behind the camera are Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the duo known as Radio Silence (Ready or Not, Abigail). The script is by David Coggeshall.
